On the 6th of April we went to Rome, Italy. We flew on Ryan air and had to leave the house at 3:30am to catch our flight. We returned on Saturday and got home at 2:00am on Easter Sunday. (Whew)

Before we got underway on the plane, Morgen decided to review the saftey card. We decided that Morgen would be our "safety monitor" for the trip.
This is one of the many restauraunts that we ate at. That Italian food was just super!
Katie tossed a coin (over her shoulder) into the Trevi fountain. Legend has it that if you do that, you will be back to Rome. (probably to retrieve your coin)
Here we are in front of the capitol building. Behind us is a bronze statue of Marco Aurelio. We also see Mike sportin' a new pair of Italian sunglasses. Morgen and Katie seem unimpressed. (with the sunglasses)
This was in front of the east wall of the Capitol Museum.
This was in front of the ruins of the Roman Forum. It was just unbelievable to see the history around us.
This is us in front of the Roman Coliseum.
This was the view inside the Coliseum. This thing was just huge. We were told that it could seat 80,000 people.
Morgen seems unimpressed. We told her that they used to fill this thing with water and have sea battles. She still wasn't impressed.
We discovered that Morgen has a long-lost Italian grandmother named Anna. Needless to say, Anna fell in love with Morgen.
Morgen actually seemed to have a good time at the national museum. This is us in the courtyard.
We took a day trip to Pompeii. This city was simply amazing. It was buried by Mt. Vesuvius by ash almost 2000 years ago. This still active volcano can be seen in the background and is about 6 miles away.
A normal street in Pompeii. It's not hard to imagine people and horses in an active and bustling city 2000 years ago.
This Pompeii trip was wearing Morgen out.
Then she woke up and realized how much fun she was missing.
This was overlooking a small theatre. It's amazing to know that only 20% of Pompeii has been excavated.
This the outside wall of Pompeii.
Katie was getting a little goofy from all of the walking.

Please excuse us for a brief cutie interruption

Thank you for your patience. We now resume the webpage

Morgen convinced us to let her sit down for a bit.
Of course, Katie needed rest too.
Katie got creative with her photographic skills.
This was in front of the entrance of our B&B. This place was just like staying with friends.
These were our hosts. They simply fell in love with the girls. We won't forget this sweet couple and how we were treated.
